This is the first time I used Sunset Automotive in Lake Bluff and it certainly will not be the last! I was in a bit of a panic because I was in the hospital and laid up for several weeks, and not only did not have time to renew my license plate sticker before the end of December but also was did not get the required vehicle emissions testing completed. Because I live alone, this was quite a quandary. The last time I had driven my car before hospitalization I noticed a slight burning smell – which was all the more worry. The previous repair place I used for about 10 years was far enough away that I would have to tow it for the necessary repairs and they were going to require a minimal repair amount based on what they thought the problem was. I was given the OK to return to work this week and was still facing the car repair problem. I took a chance and the looked online for the closest auto repair shop and was thrilled to find that Sunset had excellent reviews on Yelp. I called them and within a couple of hours they came to my house, dropped off a loaner car, and took mine in to check it out. They diagnosed the problem to be something quite minor versus what my now former repair shop told me. Not only that, but they took my car in for emissions testing for no charge so I wouldn't miss more work and only had to take it to get the new license sticker. Bottom line is that I saved about $400 and a lot of time and aggravation! They were extremely courteous, honest, and went well above and beyond my expectations. They have a new customer for life and I recommend that EVERYONE give this fabulous FEMALE owned businesses a shot. You won't regret it!

Excellent Choice for your Automotive Servicing, I was very pleased with Staff, and work done, at an extremely reasonable price. I am a Veteran of Foreign Wars, these Guys are courteous and fast. My family is totally new to the Chicago area. We needed some maintenance and service done to our vehicles. By happenstance, I found Sunset. Each encounter has been positive. Went in with a huge piece of plastic stuck to my exhaust system . Jose jumped on the issue and had the problem solved promptly. This company has a staff that has been with the business for years. When your tire starts squealing at you, it kinda makes you panic. I hate going to the mechanic..mainly because since we moved here I haven't found an honest one. Today that was changed. I took my car in and brakes needed to be replaced..even though it's not cheap the job was done and in a friendly manner. I paid and came home. While looking over the recept I noticed a billing issue so I called, not expecting anything, I just wanted to bring it to their attention. Maricela refunded me the issue quickly. I appreciated their honesty and greabyt business all day!

Unfortunately, In spite of best intent by owners my first service did not go perfectly. But, I was beyond impressed with the owners' genuine care to ensure customer is well taken care of, and going out of their way to get it right - while I do regret that my experience wasn't the greatest (on the mechanical end) it was definitely beyond superb on the customer service end. I have utmost faith that training was conducted on the mechanic and with the owners attitude this business is sure to improve and customers will be well taken care of... Again, in spite of hiccups encountered I would definitely do business with again - good genuine people - Thank you!
